Alternative Skin Protection for Lab Workers
Lab workers are faced with many skin irritants, chemicals, grime and germs that can cause skin breakdown and allergic reactions. Even if workers wear gloves during the job, that protective gear can pose its own set of reactions - from moisture retention to latex allergies.
Two DCP products are recommended for lab workers:
Glove Cote 720 Protective Lotion
Glove Cote 720 Protective Lotion provides a barrier cream that keeps out many chemicals. Since this skin barrier cream also actively repels dirt and grime, removing these materials after work is much easier. The user no longer has to scrub the skin with harsh abrasives on what could already be sensitive and raw skin.
MAN-O
MAN-O is a thick barrier hand cream that resists most solvents, grease, grime, dyes, adhesives and many other compounds which can harm or stain the skin. MAN-O also does not block the pores nor prevent perspiration. It protects exposed skin from numerous harmful compounds including fiberglass, toluene, lacquer, graphite, motor oil, acetone and many others.
Latex, leather, rubber, neoprene and vinyl gloves
Protective gloves can pose their own set of problems. Skin can become water-logged and more susceptible to bacteria. Glove Cote 720 doesn’t allow perspiration to re-penetrate the skin. It can also protect hands from the materials that make up the gloves such as latex and the many related materials and chemicals found in latex gloves. Glove Cote 720 also protects against rubber, vinyl, neoprene, and leather gloves that can be the physical cause of irritation by actively helping prevent contact dermatitis from long exposure to these materials.
Glove Cote 720 is especially formulated to be water resistant and works best against water based materials. MAN-O is a heavier based cream which is solvent resistant and designed for the toughest grime and irritants.
